We are thrilled to announce that we are one of eleven dispensaries in Vancouver to move into stage three of the dispensary-licensing program by the City of Vancouver. We are now moving into the development permit review portion of the process. This is great news for our Vancouver patients. We have many big plans for the new, expanded dispensary and will be announcing updates in the coming months.
However, this means that there will be changes in our overall business. In order to obtain our Vancouver Dispensary License, the City of Vancouver has issued new licensing regulations in order to qualify for our license. These regulations include:
(11) No person shall permit, suffer or allow, or facilitating the mailing or delivery of any produce or products from a business premise that is licensed as a Retail Dealer – Medical Marijuana- related.
(12) No person shall sell food on the business premise of a Retail Dealer – Medical Marijuana related, except that this provision does not apply to the sale of tinctures, capsules or edible oils, in sealed containers.
These regulations mean that at some point in the future, we may cease the mail order portion of our business. Additionally, it means that we continue to be unable to provide medical marijuana edibles to our clients. This process will not happen overnight and we will make sure to keep all of our customers up to date during this transition period.
As this will affect many of our customers, we would like to hear directly from you. If you could take five minutes to complete this survey, we would greatly appreciate it. As a thank you for doing this, we will provide you with a promotion code for 15% off of your next order. We want to ensure that whatever steps we take next, we take your thoughts and input into consideration.
Internally, we are proactively working on developing a transition plan for all of our mail order customers. We will ensure that each and every person is taken care of during this process and that there is a smooth transition to a new medical marijuana provider for our online customers.
As we finalize the transition plan and know more about the timeline associated with this, we will keep you up to date.
